The 26-year-old performer was finishing up her show at the Scotiabank Arena when a set of fireworks began exploding inside the concert venue just before 11:45 pm.

Constable Cindy Chung, a Media Relations Officer with the Toronto Police Service, told People that three concertgoers were treated after they suffered ‘very minor injuries.’

A concertgoer also spoke to the media outlet and noted that many other attendees were likely not aware that the impromptu fireworks display was unplanned.

‘It was at the end, during her final song, and confetti was already out, so we thought it was part of the finale,’ they said.

The concertgoer added: ‘No one was fazed by it other than the people in the pit, [but it was] hella scary.’

A spokesperson for Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) also told People that attendees for all events must pass through metal detectors before gaining entrance to the arena.

The company also issued a statement regarding the events at Dua Lipa’s performance.

It began: ‘Last night, at the end of a concert event at Scotiabank Arena, unauthorized and illegal fireworks were set off on the arena floor by a member of the audience.

‘As a result, three attendees received minor aid on-site and were able to go home without a need for further medical attention,’ it stated.

The company then noted that it has since notified the authorities regarding the matter.
