I vividly recall that during my time in school, we occasionally had to submit essays on the topic of “My Best Friend.” A friend in need is a friend indeed was one of the sayings used back then to stress the value and characteristics of a great friend. But now that I’m writing this piece about the value of closest friends, it means something entirely different to me. The true meaning of that exercise—why having best friends is crucial in life—became clear to me as I became older over the years.
Friends… I believe we all have them. Or perhaps we all merely believe that we do. I want to share with you one of my personal experiences during the time I attended CTAE in Udaipur for my graduation. One of my friends was the target of a blackmail attempt in which I demanded a favor from him: “Are you not my close friend?” “No, we are not even pals,” he retorted, “we are merely bathmats that are enrolled in the same batch of engineering degree.” He was the person I was spending the majority of my time with at the time. Most of the time, the word “friend” is misconstrued. It’s possible that those folks you go out with, eat with, and hang out with aren’t really your buddies. Even all of your virtual pals on social media sites like Facebook shouldn’t be referred to as your buddies.
Let’s attempt to comprehend what friends are and the significance of best friends in life.
Best pals enjoy your company together.
It is priceless to enjoy wonderful times and happiness with friends. Sharing your best times with pals is a common way to enrich your life. Possessing a solid network of wholesome friendships is wonderful. With close friends, you develop a strong link because you share their desire to live a happy life and be surrounded by happy people. Best friends exchange inside jokes, recollections, and laughter. When you do something major in life, they share in your joy and boost your feelings of happiness. That success means nothing if your buddies aren’t there to share it with you.

Best Friends for good Mental & Physical Health
A healthy environment surrounds you when you have healthy friendships with nice pals. As you become older and add more years to your age, having good friends becomes more and more vital to your health and pleasure. One of the most recent research found that childhood buddies are the most beneficial to your health and happiness. In an article published in the journal Child Development last year, researchers discovered that having a childhood best friend might have a big impact on someone’s mental health well into adulthood.
As you age, the value of friends grows, and in old age, friends are more important than families. Children and other family members often pretend to be busy during such time, but it’s a sad fact nonetheless. As a result, elderly parents often feel alone and neglected.
